About Us

Everick Heritage Consultants began operation in 2002. Since that time, we have undertaken over 100 projects throughout Australia. Our principle Archaeologist, Dr Richard Robins (formerly Curator of Archaeology and Anthropology in the Queensland Museum for 17 years), is widely regarded as one of the regions most experienced consultants in the field. Our services include:

CULTURAL HERITAGE ASSESSMENTS

Everick undertakes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural heritage assessments. Our reports are produced to the highest standards, and we utilise GIS mapping systems and design programs to ensure our findings are well presented.

Our staff have undertaken surveys throughout Australia and are familiar with the range of archaeological evidence found in the various environments. Dr Richard Robins was amongst the first archaeologists in Australia to implement both random sampling and non-site archaeological approaches to Indigenous survey.

This experience, combined with that of Everick’s associates, means that we are able to provide a complete service ranging from initial consultations though to the compilation of detailed maps and illustrations for reports.

CULTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT PLANS (CHMPs)

Having already supplied our clients with CHMPs for many large infrastructure and residential projects, Everick has the experience to provide informed advice under a range of legislative regimes. Whether you require a new CHMP for your project or advice on compliance with existing CHMPs, we can be of service.

As an archaeologist and a qualified solicitor, our Project Manager Tim Robins is well positioned to draft comprehensive, and most importantly, workable agreements. From initial negotiations through to sign-off with Aboriginal groups, State Departments and/or local Councils, we provide our clients with peace-of-mind that heritage within their site will be managed properly into the future.

HERITAGE SYSTEMS REVIEW

Many of our clients are large public or private organisations who are seeking independent advice on the implementation of their heritage management policies. We target issues such as record keeping, statistics, mapping and artefact identification techniques. Whether it is prior to a project or during implementation, our reviews consistently help clients to streamline their systems.

DUE DILIGENCE

Thinking of purchasing a property for development? Everick can provide you with both on-site and remote (using maps and satellite imagery) due diligence services. With our wealth of experience, we are well positioned to provide accurate predictive models of potential cultural heritage issues for a given property.

HISTORICAL AND ARCHEOLOGICAL RESEARCH / EXCAVATION

Everick Heritage Consultants can undertake archaeological and historical research with proficiency and professionalism. We do local and corporate histories, desktop studies, reviews of studies or proposals, and predictive modelling. EHC has the resources and experience to undertake complex excavation and associated site and collection management. We are able to manage all facets of complex heritage research projects, including conservation considerations, geomorphic assessments, subsurface testing, sampling and analysis.

ADVOCACY, EXPERT REPORTS AND EXPERT TESTEMONY

At various levels of government, the competing demands on funding and grants bodies and other forums mean that your voice may not be heard. We have the knowledge, experience and expertise to target your message or proposal to ensure it is presented professionally. Knowing where to go and how to communicate ideas is half the battle.

Given his wealth of experience in the field, Dr Robins is well qualified to provide expert reports for any court or tribunal proceedings. Dr Robins has been an archaeologist for 30 years, curator of Archaeology and Anthropology in the Queensland Museum for 17 years and an author of articles that appear in national and international journals. Dr Robins is a frequent lecturer and public speaker, and he possesses a well honed ability to educate an audience in archaeological matters.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

The greatest asset of any organisation is its knowledge and ideas. Your intellectual property, whether it is traditional knowledge, historical records, publications, genetic material and many other things, which you might not have considered to be of worth, potentially have great value. We are experts at identifying, organising and providing advice for you to protect and take full advantage of your intellectual property. A totally confidential assessment of your intellectual property is less costly than you think.
