AMEX Corporation engaged Everick to complete negotiations for a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) for the Ripley residential project. The project involved the preparation of preliminary planning approvals for the construction of a residential development and associated services infrastructure within the Ripley Valley Development Corridor, approximately 41 km west of Brisbane. Everick was required to complete negotiations with Jagera Daran, the registered Cultural Heritage Body for the area and ensure AMEX Corporation was meeting its Cultural Heritage Duty of Care. Project tasks have included:

  • due diligence advice, desktop studies and preliminary cultural heritage constraints analysis;
  • detailed disturbance and land use histories;
  • negotiation of a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) approved under Part 7 of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (QLD)
  • ensuring AMEX’s ongoing compliance with the CHMP, including supervision of archaeological excavations and negotiation of final impact mitigation measures; and
  • ongoing communications with the Aboriginal Parties.
