Dr Serena Love is an anthropological archaeologist with a specialty in geoarchaeology. She earned an MSc in Environmental archaeology (1999) and PhD from Stanford University (2011), where she conducted research at the Neolithic settlement of Çatalhöyük, in central Turkey.

Serena has broad experience in heritage management projects, having worked on linear infrastructure, mining, solar and residential developments. She is skilled in working within the legislative requirements of both Queensland and New South Wales, including Aboriginal and historic archaeology. Serena brings extensive skills in archaeological survey and excavation, report writing and project management.

Serena joined the heritage consultancy industry after having an academic career and brings 20 years of international experience to the Everick team. She has an extensive research profile and wide ranging archaeological interests including landscapes, prehistoric architecture, archaeological science and social theory. She has taught anthropology and archaeology at several universities in the United States before moving to Brisbane to lecture at the University of Queensland. Serena’s environmental and geoarchaeological experience have seen her become a valuable addition to the Everick team.
